Optimism is not a byproduct of things going well, rather, it is the cause of things going well.
Optimism means living life on the offense and proactively. It allows us to take risks and go after opportunities with passion and effervescence.
It will attract other optimists and together, you can create collaboration and shared success.
Optimism should not be mistaken for blind or toxic positivity. It is not saying everything is alright when it’s falling apart.
Optimism is about having the inner reserves to focus on the things that are going right and believing that things will work out.
Why is it important?
- Optimistic people achieve more and achieve their goals much faster.
- They are also more successful in life.
- They are more persistent, they believe they’re going to get a successful outcome from doing something for a long time.

- It helps us overcome tough times.
- It boosts our brain and heart health.
- Lowers our risk of heart disease and helps us live longer lives.
Examples of optimism

Missing a workout and deciding to focus on eating healthy for the rest of the day, realizing that their efforts to lose weight aren’t completely useless.
Hearing bad news at work or school and deciding to have a good day regardless.
Missing an appointment or event and deciding to focus on the things that are going right instead of catastrophizing and making things worse .
Ways of becoming more optimistic
Practice being optimistic and stay consistent with it
Optimism is a mental practice, you can shift into an optimistic mindset on a moment by moment basis by reframing your thoughts on the situation going well and looking out for the positives.
Contain problem to a smaller area:
If you are suddenly faced with a problem, don’t focus on everything going wrong.
Do not catastrophize, instead, focus on the actual issue and think of a positive reframe. This will allow you to manifest better outcomes as well.
Forgive and let go
This tip will allow you to attract more positive experiences into your life. If you are caught up in the experience of resentment or negativity, your ability to practice optimism will be hindered.
List 30 things that make you excited
By making a list of things that make you excited, you are more likely know what to do in order to boost the amount optimism in your life.

Get a good night’s sleep
Not having enough sleep leads us to be more irritable and anxious, this is not the state of mind that an optimistic person should have.
Consult your inner coach
Your inner coach or guide is a good reference for how to be optimistic, you may find a natural tendency towards optimism that was tarnished by bad experiences.
In any case, practicing optimism with its help will reap better outcomes.
